Selva di Val Gardena is located in the heart of the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Dolomites and is together with Santa Cristina and Ortisei one of the municipalities in Val Gardena. In this part of South Tyrol, the Ladin language and tradition is maintained. Via the Passo Gardena Selva is connected with its neighboring village of Corvara, and via Sella Pass you reach Canazei and Campitello. In winter, starting on ski in Selva, you can discover the entire Dolomiti Superski Ski area with only one skipass. Belong the connected ski resorts you find S. Cristina and Ortisei / Alpe di Siusi in Val Gardena, as well as the popular ski resorts of Arabba / Porta Vescovo and Malga Ciapela with the glacier of Marmolada. In southern direction, you ski to Val di Fassa with its popular resorts of Canazei and Campitello. All of these ski areas are included in the Dolomiti Superski pass.
The ski area Val Gardena / Alpe di Siusi has 83 comfortable and fast lifts. With two cable cars, seven gondolas, 45 chairlifts, 28 drag lifts and one funicular 115,000 passengers can be transported per hour. Most of the 175 km of slopes can be covered with machine made snow. The winter sports guests at Val Vardena can choose among 52 blue, 105 red and 18 black piste kilometers. For cross-country skiers are a total of 115 kilometers of trails available.
