About: Val d'Isère

Espace Killy | Savoie Mont Blanc | France

Val d’Isere is a traditional ski village at 1.800 m altitude with classy ambiance. In recent history Val d’Isere built up a reputation for hosting annual ski world cups and the ski competitions of the Winter Olympics in 1992. If you enter Val d’Isere you first come to La Daille from where you can see parts of the Olympic slope. Next is the main part of Val d’Isere which offers almost everything you can which for in a mountain village. Besides these there are the two small districts of Laisinant and Le Fornet. Close to the area is the Vanoise national park which offers a beautiful view.

Winter-Information ski & freeride
Together with Tignes, Val d’Isere is part of the ski resort Espace Killy. It is named after the three times Olympic gold medalist Jean-Claude Killy. The altitude reaches from 1.550 m up to astonishing 3.456 m. Therefore it is a true winter paradise with good snow conditions into late spring. Because of the long ski season Espace Killy is usually the venue for the first ski world cup of the season. This takes place at the famous Face de Bellevarde which is the only downhill run that gives the skiers a view down to the finish line from the start. Beginners can book ski courses and more advanced skiers are free to explore the backcountry with experienced mountain guides.

Toboggan and other winter activities
Val d’Isere offers one toboggan run and the possibility to rent sledges. Winter hiking trails are ready to be explored with or without snowshoes.

Discounts of up to 45% on ski and snowboard rental are available at our partner company SKISET Val d'Isere. You can book online directly on SKISET Val d'Isère.
