About:

The village of Itter is situated at the bottom of the Hohe Salve, near the Wilder Kaiser, in the Kitzbühel Alps. Itter is part of the SkiWelt Wilder Kaiser - Brixental ski area, one of the largest ski areas in Austria, with a very diverse range of winter and mountain sports. The ski area starts right on the outskirts of the village. With 244 kilometres of slopes and 83 lifts & cable cars, it is one of Tyrol's top ski areas.
Numerous other winter activities such as snowshoe hiking, tobogganing and cross-country skiing (Angerberg / Mariastein cross-country skiing centre) are also possible. The cross-country trail in Itter starts in the centre of the village and has a transition to the Söll cross-country trail. It is therefore a connection to the cross-country skiing network of the Wilder Kaiser region.
Also in summer Itter has a lot to offer. There are numerous hiking trails around the "Kleine Salve" and the "Hohe Salve". Directly below the summit of the Kleine Salve is a crystal-clear reservoir that invites you to unwind. If you don't want to hike, you can comfortably and quickly take the Salvistabahn cable car in Itter up to the summit of the Kleine Salve.
