Champagny is located at an altitude of 1 250 m, in an attractive scenery surrounded by pine forests and large snow fields adjacent to the Vanoise National Park. Its south side balcony situation faces Courchevel and the ski spots of the Three Valleys, as well as the protected Dome de Chassefôret glacier area in the Vanoise National Park. With its 500 inhabitants and old chalets built of wood and stone Champagny offers peace and comfort. However, there are various shops and bars for nightlife. There is also a swimming pool with sliding roof, that is open to the public in winter and summer. A modern cable car takes you in a few minutes to the ski area at 2.000 meters.
You will find the nordic skiing center, an ice-climbing-pillar and a sledge track for children at the hamlet "Le Haut", one of the entries to the Vanoise National Park. It is situated in a spectacular high valley viewing the summits of La Grand Casse and La Grande Motte near Tignes / Espace Killy. In winter, a free ski bus runs regularly between Champagny and Le Haut.

Champagny en Vanoise is located in the national park and is therefore an ideal starting point for hiking. There are several climbing spots (for example La Ravière and La Grande Roche). In the hamlet of Le Haut is the "Espace Glacialis", where a permanent exhibition provides everything you need to know about glaciers. Water sports are also possible in the surrounding area. New is the mountain cart downhill route from the Colorado chairlift to La Plagne center (approx. 1 hour's drive away).
